When the back end starts to sag from a heavy trailer or stacked bed load, these Ride-Rite air springs pick up the slack. With a 5,000-lb load-leveling capacity, they mount between the frame and rear suspension to keep everything sitting level. That means better steering control, steady braking, and headlight beams that stay aimed where they should—no more squatting under weight or light front-end feel when towing or hauling.
Every haul is different, so it’s handy to tweak your setup for each job. The Firestone system lets you manually adjust air pressure between 5 psi and 100 psi using individual inflation valves for each side. Add air to handle a camper or heavy lumber run, or let some out when driving empty for a smoother ride. You can even fine-tune side-to-side pressure to balance off-center loads for better stability through curves and over uneven ground.

A tough job shouldn’t beat you up on the road. These air springs use a double-convoluted design with four layers of reinforced rubber that absorb road shock and cushion contact between axle and frame. The extra durability helps prevent bottoming out and keeps the suspension working smoothly mile after mile. The rolled crimp seal locks the rubber to corrosion-resistant metal end plates for a secure, leak-free performance you can trust.

Each Ride-Rite kit comes with custom brackets, air line tubing, hardware, and separate valves for manual inflation—everything needed to get it mounted up right. Switches, gauges, compressors, and air tanks are available separately if you want in-cab control later on. Once installed, you’ll have solid load support that fights permanent sagging in your leaf springs and keeps your truck riding level no matter how much gear you’re carrying.

I will be contacting Firestone about this, but what is the year, make, model, and version of the vehicle you are trying to install this on?

After 1 year of use, my Firestone airbags never let me down. Working perfectly. This is the 3rd trucks Ive run Firestone 5000 lbs. rated bags on with no issues.

Still working great as it should and doesnt leak air. The remote controller is really convenient and can be operated from inside or outside the truck. Definitely worth all the work. The shield I fabricated for the compressor keeps road grit etc. Out of the air intake of the compressor which should be a huge help for the life of the system. Love it.

I ended up adding an airlift compressor which was super easy to install and everything works great! I got tired of checking pressures, the air compressor monitors psi and kicks on if needed. I would buy and install these things again if I ever end up getting a new truck. Works great when towing my 12,000 pound bumper pull camper

Thanks for being honest with your review, Lee. It really is a bummer when a part, even as small as a nut, is missing causing a delay with the install. However, I'm glad that you were able to get everything installed and that the ride is better and safer now. When's the next camping trip?

Glad to hear this, Steve! I am curious, what all did you do to find and fix the leak? I'm always looking for new ways to help folks stop a leak or whatever the issue is :)

You're much better at math than me, Clark! I really do appreciate all your attention to detail with this kit as well as with your truck. How often do you are you carrying a load in the truck?

Brackets kept bending. Eventually distorted the frame. I removed them and went with another product.

Still happy with this install, bags help tremendously over bridge joints hauling my 5th wheel. not sure how these compare to Timbren setup, but i would guess better based on being able to adjust pressure. way more stable over bridges and bends in road.
